Cruelty-Free and Vegan at Aura: What It Actually Means for Your Treatment

More of our nail and skincare brands are cruelty-free or vegan than you might think. Here’s what that means and which products qualify.

Aura on Chester

More clients are asking us which of our products are cruelty-free or vegan, and it’s a fair question — the terms get used loosely across the beauty industry, so it’s worth being clear about what they actually mean and where our own brands stand. Cruelty-free means a product (and typically its ingredients) hasn’t been tested on animals at any stage of development. Vegan goes a step further, meaning the formula contains no animal-derived ingredients at all — no beeswax, no carmine, no collagen sourced from animals, and so on. A product can be one without being the other. Across our nail bar, Lola Lee is the range that stands out on this front — its gel polishes are formulated without animal testing and without animal-derived ingredients, making it a genuinely conscious choice for clients who care about this. It’s a growing focus industry- wide, and one we expect to matter more as other brands continue reformulating. If cruelty-free or vegan matters to you: Ask your therapist which specific product lines qualify before your treatment — formulations do vary within a brand’s own range Don’t assume “natural” or “clean” automatically means cruelty-free or vegan — they’re different claims entirely Vegan doesn’t automatically mean hypoallergenic — always flag sensitivities regardless of a product’s ethical credentials We’re happy to talk you through exactly which products on our shelves fit your values at your next visit.
